Can anybody help me

I have a pentium 1 computer system.I formatted the Hard disk.Having done this, i tried to re-load win98 back into it.It always complain that I should insert bootable diskett.I made a bootable diskett from a friend and inserted it. It is the same problem and the floppy diskett light is always on, whether I have diskett inside the floppy drive or not.
could anybody help me with this problem.
