Can I remove fixed program from tray?

Win98 Q: I have Iomega tape drive S/W installed. It installed a program in the quicklaunch and stays in the middle tray at the bottom. I have to right click and close to get rid of it. How do I remove this from the bootup? It is not in the Programs Startup . I suspect I have to do a registry change for this.
