Can not browse the network

by northwood . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

I can not browse my HOME LAN with windows XP

When I click on My Network Places and then select
“View Work Group computers”, it comes up with a message saying work group is not accessible, the network path was not found.

My LAN consists of a windows 2000 Pro computer and a windows XP computer. The default network protocol is TCP/IP. Yes, I can ping back and forth. I am experienced with 2000 pro and don’t have problems in setting up a workgroup. But with XP, setting up a work group seems to have it’s quirks. Why can’t I see the XP computer icon in “My Network Places” ?
