Can you run a .exe from an external HD on 2 seperate machines…?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to assist with this doozey. I have an external HD shared across a network, both myself and colleague can access the HD no problems but i was wondering if we would be able to run an .exe from the external HD on both of our seperate machines across the network, at the same time. It would be the same .exe file which we woul dbe running.
