I have multiple PCs with Multiple OSes on simple flat LAN with NetGear RT311 Internet Router connected to a cable modem. One PC, a Win2k laptop, cannot connect to the Internet. All of the others work fine.
Computer Management System Events on this laptop show two unusal:
1) The system failed to register adapter with settings… — suggests to do a “ipconfig /registerdns” — This did not help.
2) IPRIP was unable to add a route to the system table. The data is the error code…
Any suggestions?
This laptop has given this problem in the past but a simple reboot has always fixed it.
I tried to uninstall TCP/IP and then reinstall it (this has fixed other problems in the past for me), but it won’t let me uninstall it because is says that two other components are using TCP/IP:
1) Simple TCP/IP Services
2) Print Services for UNIX
I do not know how to turn off either of those services.
Any suggestions?
