cannot find my cd drive

Hi i am using windows 2000 and i recently encountered this problem. When i open my computer i cannot see my cd/dvd drive and my cdrw drive. I did not installed these drive recently and they used to be seen before.when i see it in my hardware profileit tells me
Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)
I also tried to uninstall these devices and restart my computer but it did not work.Appretiate any help.
