Cannot reinstall Windows xp home edition

Fatal error: sxs.dll syntax error in manifest or policy file G\I386\asms\1000\msfst\windows\Gdiplus\Gdiplus.man in line 4. A component file does not match the verification information present in the component manifest. Help!!
