Hi, I am helping a small organization. They have a small office, one Windows 2000 server (with AD) (SP2), and several workstations (Win98, Win2k Pro, Win XP, and Macintosh). Their internet connection is DSL with a static IP address. Their server is used for several things?. WWW, FTP, File Server, Print Server, and Mail Server. Their Mail program is Exchange 5.5 with SP4. Their email has been working just fine, until this past weekend. From that time, they can send messages, but they cannot receive any. From discussing things with the staff, and checking the configurations, there is no known changes (none that we know about). The FTP works fine, and their WWW pages can be accessed okay. All computers on their LAN can browse the network and get out to the internet.
I suspect something in the DNS settings on the server, but I am not positive. I did enable the DNS forwarders to a couple of DNS internet servers. External from their LAN, I can ping their IP address, ping their www.domain.org , ftp.domain.org , and mail.domain.org.
At this time, they cannot receive ANY email. They have other web email addresses and have been using them while I am trying to fix the problem.
