There are 2 ws with static IP address connected with a
hub, TCP/IP is the only network protocol.
ComputerA is NT4 ws. belongs to workgroup ‘Conquest’.
ComputerB is win2k ws. belongs to workgroup ‘Conquest’.
When both ws boot up:
ComputerA can see itself in Network Neighbourhood.
ComputerA can see ‘Conquest’ in Network Neighbourhood.
ComputerA cannot see ComputerB in Network Neighbourhood.
ComputerA can ping ComputerB
ComputerB can see ‘Conquest’ in My Network Place.
ComputerB cannot see ComputerA and itself.
ComputerB can ping ComputerA.
ComputerB can see ‘Conquest’ & ComputerA but not itself if
client for MS network installed.
Question: Can someone explain what’s going on for these
two workstations and why the browsers act strange. I would
expect once the two connected, they’re suppose to see each
other without any host file, WINS or DNS just like good
old WFW. THanks!
