Hi
I am trying to setup a client computer running WinXP Pro for use with Small Business Server 2000.
I can create the network setup disks on the Small Business Server (but I ask it not to install any apps), then when I run the setup program on the XP machine, the SBS client network setup wizard runs and asks for the domain admin user name and password. I enter these details but when I click Begin, the Windows Client Setup Status dialog box displays, then does nothing. The highlight remains on > Installing Windows 2000 Networking.
I have found an article on the MS-KB – 315773 – that describes how to manually configure an XP Pro client in an SBS 4.5 network, but this presumably only applies to SBS 4.5.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can I apply the instructions used for SBS 4.5 to SBS 2000? Or is there another way to do this specifically for SBS 2000?
Any help will be appreciated.
