One of my clients got hacked through FTP on a W2K Server. After some testing we failed to re-enable the password on the firewall router. The hackers came in anonymously and parked some folders. We have resecured the server. I have removed most of the files and folders using the command prompt and identiying the short file and folders names using the DIR/X and then deleting them. There is one set of subfolders though that has me stumped. I can drill down to the lowest level folder where a group of files are using Windows Explorer. I can see them but Windows says it can’t access the source disk. Using Command Prompt and DIR/X I can start at the upper most folder and make my way down two more levels and then I hit a folder named “aux”. I can see it with DIR/X. It appears to be in plain text with no hidden spaces or anything but when I try to change directories to it I get an error saying that the folder can’t be found. Anybody know a way to get pased this?
