can’t access windows update

I use Microsoft windows Millennium Edition and I am unable to access windows update site. All I get is page cannot be displayed when I click on product updates. I have tried all the suggestions that Microsoft recommend in Q243787 and Q193385, these things did not resolve the problem. I have used the Internet Explorer repair tool, and still I cannot access product updates. I have even tried with nothing but windows installed. Does anyone know another way to get in there? I have even updated the Microsoft Virtual Machine, and the latest version of Windows Installer.
