cant browse from neighbourhood

i have win-2000 proff. and win98 as two different os in different m/c. all are connected in lan. when i am trying to browse the m/c which has win-2000 from win98 through neighbourhood it is asking for network password along with this it is giving RESOURSES as \\computer name\ipc$. and it is not taking any password so that i cant access shared folders
