can’t browse or ping network with vpn

I have configured RAS in windows 2000 server and clients can VPN in fine if they are using windows 2000 but if it’s 98 or xp they can’t seem to see the network. They can connect just fine but when trying to ping or browse for the network, it can’t see anything. I can’t even use the net view //samplecomputer/c$ either. Does anybody have any idea as to what is going on? All the 2000 clients can connect, browse and ping just fine.

I’ve noticed something when I checked the network setting, eventhough netbios over tcp/ip is enable it comes up disable when I do IPCONFIG /ALL. All other settings are the same as the 2000 clients. I’ve unchecked the “use default gateway” and enable wins and dns.
