Can’t conect to SQL data base

I have an nt4.0 (sp5) workstation that I am try to install a software on the needs to conect to a SQL anywhere data base. During the install it stops and gives me an error that it can’t connect to the data base. I have fixed this problem in the pastby upgrading to Novell client32 (4.71e) but this is not working this time. I have uninstalled both tcpip and ipx/spx and reinstalling them but no luck. I can start the data base with tcpip from the run command line. I have serval nt workstations that are running this software no problems they are connecting to the data base using ipx. Any suggestions are welcome.
