Can’t Delete Directory with No Name

by tforce . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

Okay, stop laughing. Like a friggin idiot, I provisioned my new server and forgot to lock down the FTP services and someone used my server for FTP downloads for a few hours before I caught on.

As you can guess, I’ve been able to remove most of the files but not the directory structure. The root of the directory has no name, and has sub-directories also with invalid characters. I’ve tried using the RM utility to no avail. Found an article on POSIX commands on the NET, but either I didn’t follow the instructions properly or whatever.

None-the-less, any help in removing them would be appreciated. Just an annoyance at this point, server is secured.

Following is the path of the directory. NOTE: there are three spaces at the end of the last directory.

D:\ \scan\and\tag\.COM1 \by\for \FuXuen\and\^^$$FuCks DeLeTeRs$$^^
