can’t delete warez folder from NT server

Our NT SQL server was a unwilling warez server, the knuckleheads dropped megs of garbage on our server. But the clever basta*** put some sort of voodoo on the folders so I can’t delete them. Have tried taking ownership but I get file or directory not found errors and in some cases when I try to delete a folder it says it doesn’t exist. Short of formatting the drive does anybody have any suggestions to rid of these folders?
