can’t DOS prt from W2k pro on w2k netwrk

Have a legacy DOS client/server app. residing on our win2k server. A w2kpro workstation is able to run the app, but I can’t get it to print output on local printer. The app only recognizes lpt1 – lpt3, but this workstation has only a USB printer connection.

I’ve even tried to share the USB printer on the network and have this workstation NET USE lpt1 \\servername etc. its own printer share, to no avail.

any suggestions?
