Can’t install XP on system with one sata drive

by razzbarry . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

I have a Asus P5NSLI mb and I can install windows up until it tries to boot to the hard drive to finish the installation. It just boots and boots and never finds the drive. SP found the drive, got the correct size, formatted it and loaded the OS.

The system has a intel core 2 duo, with 1 GB of Corsair memory. Everything seems to work but the install of XP. I am using XP Home SP2b.

What can cause the system to ignore the HD? It is set as the primary HD, it is the only one in the Bios.

Thanks,
Barry
