Can’t print from legacy DOS app

I have a clinet that upgraded to Win2K and the legacy DOS app only printed occassiionlly. Now it has stopped printing altogether. Have tried changing parallel port settings from uni-directional to bi-directional in bios but that works for a day. Itis a local printer (HP)with the latest driver.

Prints fine from windows. Tried sharing the printer and mapping back to it using “net use lpt1: \\machine_name\printer_share_name /persistent:yes” as per MS suggestion. This only gives a very generic “print error” in the dos app.

Any ideas?
