Can’t Shutdown (win98)/ Gateways BIOS

I have a Gateway PII 350/96MB/10G/DVD with Gateway Bios, I can’t shutdown because it keeps reboooting on me.
Pls. Help me to resolve it. Moreover, i wanted to get rid of Gateway-bios without loosing any hardware setup.
