The situation.
The company has wingate running on a 98 machine.
There is one machine that suddenly can’t connect to the net. SUPPOSEDLY this happened after I upgraded the antivirus signatures.
What I found.
1.The default gateway IP had disappeared
2.The computer couldn’t see the wingate machine, 3.The wingate machine claimed the ‘computer responded incorrectly’ when I tried to access the problem machine in network neighbour.
What I did
1.Re-entered the default gateway IP
2. Pinged the wingate client and it magically reappeared in network neighbourhood.
3. Checked the connection settings in IE
3.Realised that this made no difference and the computer still couldn’t surf.
Has anyone ever encountered this ?
And by the way.
1. It was innoculateIT signatures I updated.
2. Its very possible that this could be the users unintentional doing .
Thanks in advance guys(that definatley includes girls as well)
