Card Executive for PCMCIA – Event 7026 k

Gateway 9300 Pro, NT4 SP5 workstation.
After installing Card Executive to setup the network/modem combo PCMCIA card, Windows rebooted to do the usual Card Exec diagnostics, then rebooting one last time, as usual. But as soon as Card Executive was installed, Windows loads up with event number 7026 ‘the following boot-start system-start drivers failed to load: kmmini2a’. Reinstalling the Card Executive does not cure the problem and uninstalling it does not remove the reoccuring event.

Any idea what kmmini2a is? And how to fix/remove the event.
