card reader Icons disappear in XP Pro

Hello,

I have a problem on 2 Pc’s in that the memory card reader Icons disappear after the device is stopped and I can only get them back by rebooting the pc. Is this an XP problem or a card reader problem ?

Any direction is appreciated.
