CD Player Booting with Windows 95

While booting up Windows 95 the CD player dialogue box appears on the screen and Windows goes no further with the boot-up process. Windows boots up okay in safe mode. Tried uninstalling CD Player but it made no difference. Any idea how to stop dialogue box from appearing on boot up as it it obviously interferring with boot-up process? CD Player does not appear in “Startup”.
