CD-Rom

We have an IBM Personal Computer 730 which keeps on responding with the cd-rom after a period of 2weeks. But when you install another cd-rom it again works for the same period and it stops. The programme used on the computer is windows 98 with a memory of 32mb. How do i solve this problem?
