CD_Rom

why would a cd rom when reading a burned cd-r lock up the system? the cd-rom drive just started doing this it used to read the cd’s before why would it start now it is a 56X cdrom drive bought just recently. does the aspi driver need to be updated? or should the firmware be updated?
