CD-Rom drive

Can not figure this one at all.
I am Running Windows 2000 advanced server on a test box. ( Dell pen II 128mb ram,Was running fine for atleast 9 monthsnothing new added since)
1 scanner, 1 cd writer, 1 printer.
I scaned a jpeg and the pc locked up. Had to cold boot. Now the pc sees the D& E:\’s and I cannot explore them at all, data cds now show up as a music cd. I swapped out the hard drive with a 98se hard drive and still only see the data disk in the d:\ as a music cd. Tried emergency repair disk . Tried to rebuild the hard drive. No good. On the E:\ I was able to browse my Microsoft Advanced server Install CD but not any other data Cd.
