cd-rom not showing in “my computer”

I have 2 cd drives that show up in device manager but not “my computer”.I tried to read an old hard drive and got a ? mark next to the hard drive and both cd’s.After removing the hard drive I found the cd’s gone.
Any help appreciated.
Both drives were functioning properly prior to this point.
