CD-ROM’s – Drivers will not load

Have two CD-ROM drives on XP-Pro box, one is Mitsumi CD-ROM other is IDE CD-RW. Recently added Maxtor 80gig HD but both CD’s worked after install. In Device manager, both have ! icons, I have unistalled drivers for both and during reinstall, everything seems to go fine until the end and I get the message: “Driver is not intended for this platform”
Box was originally Win98 SE, 700mHz Athelon, upgraded to XP Pro without problems.
