CD/RW Drive

I have been backing up a data dictionary and suddenly it the computer locks up when copying one file. It is 9.29 MB in size. I am using xcopy to copy the data to the CD/RW drive. I can copy to another HD on another computer (accross the network} but not to the CD/RW.

Any ideas.
