CDRom Disappeared

I have a P60 I am fixing for a print server on a peer-to-peer network with win98 se and Win 2k machines (6). After putting on win 98 It will not find my cdrom anymore. I loaded win 98 with it and now it is gone. I have gone thru the bios and reset many times and cannot find why this will not come back?
