CDRom lock out

My children were playing games using the CDRom? Now I cann’t get the CDRom to work message I get is DEVICE NOT READY.. I’ve unplugged device and searched new hardware plugged back in and searched with no sucess.
Also have tryed to restall with no sucess. Can some one please HELP?
