CDRW recognized at CD-ROM in XP

My LG 32x10x40 model GCE-8320B is being recognized by XP Pro as a CD-Rom instead of CDRW and therefore Roxio Platinum 5.02 will not work because it doesn’t think there is a burner installed. What can I do to fix this? I removed the device from device manager and it keeps finding it as a CD-ROM.
