cdwriter cannot install software bundle

I am installing software bundle of hp cd writer 9100 plus when suddenly an error message appeared (the hp cd-witer is running under winxp pro and is detected by the os). the error message is somewhat like this: no cd-writer or hardware drive is conected.a sugested action also appeared, please reinstall your cd writer drive. I followed this but it did not work. because of the error message the software installation cannot continue. please help me find the solution
