Changing from pirated XP to Windows Vista

I bought a laptop in Vietnam which came with a pirated copy of Windows XP. I have since bought a legal copy of Windows Vista but I’m having some problems installing it. When it comes to the screen which asks if I want to select a partition or not, apparently I’m just supposed to click next because I don’t want any partitions but the “next” button is not active. Any ideas?
