Changing from Workgroup to Domain

I am trying to change a Windows 2000 workstation from a workgroup to a domain. After i enter the password for access to the domain i get the following error message: The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials. That is as far as i can get. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
