Changing sectors?

I have been in the IT industry for more than eight years and have climbed up to a Project Lead/Manager position. I have primarily been exposed to Technology sectors (i.e. electronics, telecoms)

I recently relocated with my spouse who had a good job offer (also in the IT industry). Unfortunately, in this area, the only setors are in finance and banking.

Any suggestions on how to adapt to these new sectors? or do I need to climb the tech ladder once again?
