cisco vpn connection over aol broadband

a client of mine is having a problem in that he is trying to connect to our network from home. This person uses AOL Broadband and AOL is version 7 in windows 2k pro. We have a cisco 3000 concentrator and our clients use the cisco vpn dialer to connect to this. We’ve found that AOL Broadband is pretty much a vpn connection in itself and when this person tries to connect to the network via the vpn dialer, AOL disconnects. I have found an article from Cisco that says if we turn split tunnelingon, that this should fix the problem but I’m not so sure we want to do that. Has anyone else by chance seen this and found a different work around for it?
