cleaning out SystemWorks

The computer has had SystemWorks
removed but when starting up, the
message appears that the windows
registry or SYSTEM ini file is requesting
c:\progra~\symantec\cymevnt.386, then it
proceeds to open in Safe Mode.

There is no reference to the symantec file
in system.ini. Since the program has
been removed, I can’t uninstall it properly.

Where do I go from here?
