Clicking on links.

When ever I click on a link and it opens up another browser, that’s all it does…It just opens up and never loads the page. If I click on a link and it goes to the website in the same browser, I’m fine. I’m running Windows 2000, Service Pack 2. I’m running Internet Explorer 5.5, Service pack 1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
