Client can’t find DHCP.

Problem at a customer we support:
Have an NT4 workstation that operates properly on the network when assigned a static IP address.
When switched to DHCP, it can’t find the DHCP server. There is a Proxy client installed on the local PC, if it matters. Of course, nothing’s changed on this machine!
