Client Disconnects with WIN2K Server

We are experienicing legacy client (WIN95, DOS) disconnects to resources on a WIN2K server. For example drive mappings. If an app resides on drive P, it will internittantly disconnect. going to a command prompt on the client and changing to driveP will take work, but it takes a while to restore the connection.

Does anyone have any clues? The physical network has been looked at and cat5 certified.
