cmd.exe

At start up on my XP PC, I have a command prompt window running (flashing on the screen every few seconds), the directory on the tool bar reads Windows/system32/cmd.exe.
When I look in task manager, it’s running as “explorer32.exe” and it’s using tons of CPU power. I have to end task it each time I boot. Any help please?
