Got something weird here… We’re running a WAN with Win2K servers and XP workstations. Since we have a T-1 connection to Net, we only have one workstation with a modem. Needed to share that modem with another workstation for a periodic dial-up dataaccess to a bank. When I created shared Internet connection, this of course fouled up the IP address on the internal network, so I deleted it. This seems to have busied out COM1 (even though the internal modem is on COM3) and now the Palm V can’t find the port to sync. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the COM port AND the Palm 4.0.1 Desktop software, to no avail. Can’t seem to find anything on MS TechNet (doesn’t mean there isn’t anything, only that I can’t FIND it!) Since the problem seems to live on after hard boot, I’m assuming something written in the registry, but don’t know what to look for?
Anybody out there have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!
