Hello,
Investigating a network problem I came by an article
“Installing DHCP Services on your Windows NT Server” on Microsoft TECHNET.
I have some problem creating a specific network service.
The problem is relating to security, remote booting with FTP and DHCP/BOOTP.
The environment I want to create contains a Windows NT server system and a vxWorks OS client system.
In this environment the vxWorks OS client gets his boot image from the NT server using DHCP/BOOTP.
Now I was wondering if it is possible to create a boot file download mechanism using DHCP/BOOTP
in combination with FTP a username and a password.
Having read the RFC-s [951,2131,2132] on the DHCP and BOOTP protocol, I found that FTP can be used as a download mechanism. But the question is how to implement it with Windows NT??
Maybe you can also tell me where to find more information on these subjects.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
B Spikmans
