Compaq laptop partitions

I recently bought a compaq C304NR notebook that came with XP home pre-installed. There are two partitions or drives. The main C: drive and a D: drive that has a system recovery program by itself. I want to put XP Pro in there and get rid of Home. Anything I can do without formatting the hard drive?
