compaq presario 5712- Intel 810 chipset celeron processor

Rescently replaced hard drive, upgraded ram, and replaced bad 3v cmos battery. Ran quickrestore cd’s and everything was almost fine. Well, now the computer will not boot at all, nothing , no bios, no compaq logo. The floppy drive has not worked since I began working on this computer; or any floppy drive for that matter, and still does not work. Should I suspect a problem with the main board or power supply. And if so how do I check these components.
