compatable XP

I have a client who has a Husqvarna sewing machine and is running Windows xp with her software for the sewing machine. Is it possible for the software to not be compatible with the xp in such a way that it would cause the sewing machine’s computer board to freeze up when she puts a design in the sewing machine that has been saved onto a 3.5 floppy?
