Compress or Not Compress, that is the ?

A colleague noticed the storage space on our Windows 2000 Advanced Server, our web server, was runnning very low. Our site was inaccessible. According to him, “there was nothing I could delete to free up space, so I compressed the drive.” So, without any discussion amongst the IT dep’t, he compressed the drive. The web site is now accessible BUT… I’ve been lectured by many an MCSE, DO NOT COMPRESS! Your comments, good & bad, are welcomed.
